Child Dental Care

Pediatric/Child dentistry is a specialised field of dental treatment revolving around the dental care of children.

WHY ARE PRIMARY (BABY OR MILK) TEETH IMPORTANT?
  • Baby teeth stay in place until permanent teeth underneath erupt,
pushing them out and taking their place
  • Milk teeth are important for the natural development and
growth which eventually will aid your child’s smile and well-being
WHY DOES A CHILD NEED AN EARLY DENTAL TREATMENT?
  • For preventing the above mentioned effects

  • To detect any growth problem in upper and lower jaws at an early stage to avoid surgery in future

  • For preventing teeth decay using preventive interventions (fluoride varnish, pit & fissure sealants etc.)

  • To prevent or intervene any abnormal habits and their sequelae (finger/thumb sucking, mouth breathing)

  • To teach children and parents about proper brushing technique, food habits and oral hygiene maintenance

We strive to make our clinic comfortable environment where your child can develop a healthy future smile and positive attitude towards dentistry. We will be glad to hear from you regarding any queries.

PEVENTIVE MEASURES IN CHILD DENTAL CARE

Just like any normal vaccinations your child gets, the below mentioned preventive dental measures assures children of healthy, beautiful, disease-free teeth which directly compliments their physical and mental well-being thus, contributing to healthy dazzling smiles…

PIT AND FISSURE SEALANTS

Morphology / shape of tooth plays important role in dental decay. Usually back teeth are prone to decay than front teeth. Teeth with deep pits and fissures (natural grooves present in teeth) are highly prone to decay as food gets lodged in them. These food accumulations are difficult to remove with normal brushing.

Pit and fissure sealants are highly recommended for children who are at high risk for dental decay, dry mouth, children with physical and mental impairment, those under orthodontic treatment & medications for systemic illness. Children with greater experience of dental caries in primary dentition are equally vulnerable to dental caries in permanent teeth.
